New adidas Forum Lo Gets Stamped With Chinese Characters For CNY

To celebrate Chinese New Year, adidas is releasing a collection that pays homage to one of China’s most revolutionary inventions—the movable type. Joining the Superstar and the Forum Mid is a Forum Low with details that mimic ancient stamp blocks.

A clean white base is offset by red detailing seen throughout the design. The lateral side ditches the usual stripes for a white velcro-backed flap that features embossed Chinese text and a red pull tab. These 3D characters allude to the raised lettering on stamp blocks and are also applied to the ankle strap and lace dubrae. For more color, red stamped lettering is found on the forefoot as emblems on the forefoot and heel. Also in red, the stripes on the medial side have been replaced with simple zig-zag stitches. A translucent rubber sole completes the model for a clean, celebratory style.

The Forum Low is available at adidas.jp for ¥15,400. adidas fans in North America will have to wait for a release date to be announced on adidas.com.
