The Air Jordan 12 wasn’t completely quiet throughout 2020, but it was undoubtedly overshadowed by some of its older counterparts. And while the full scope of its release roster for the new year is yet to be seen, the silhouette has already (unofficially) teased some of its makeups for 2021. The latest arrives in the form of a “White/University Red/Black” colorway delivering a “Twist” on one of the model’s original ensembles.
As with the arrangement Michael Jordan wore throughout the 1996-97 NBA season, the pair’s leather base indulges in a plain “White” tone. Lizard skin-reminiscent overlays across the profiles on the forthcoming take, however, also partake in the simple hue instead of donning stark red contrast. Tongue and collar lining, as well as accents throughout the upper and outsole, boast “University Red” flair, but it doesn’t make the same statement as the original release’s sole units and mudguard did. Nevertheless, it’s likely the upcoming retro features a construction close to the ’96 proposition given that pairs throughout 2020 reverted to quality craftsmanship.
Enjoy an initial mock-up of the Jordan 12 “Twist” here below, and anticipate a Nike SNKRS launch on July 31st.
