Social Status Looks To The Renaissance And The Mona Lisa For Its adidas Consortium Ultra 4D

Social Status Looks To The Renaissance And The Mona Lisa For Its adidas Consortium Ultra 4D

Unveiled on November 23rd via social media with the caption “Social Status Only. 3020 Pairs.,” the North Carolina institution’s adidas Ultra 4D has finally been given a December 4th launch date. The inspiration behind the pair’s widely-praised tri-color palette has also been revealed.

Unlike its special edition Converse Chuck 70, the forthcoming proposition looked towards the past instead of the future for its muse. The wheat-tone base and its accompanying orange and olive hues were transplanted from the Renaissance, and chosen as a nod to Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” (1503). While the pair has yet to pass the test of 517 years like the aforementioned painting, its well-thought-out color combination works in tandem with the Three Stripes’ futuristic proposition for an arrangement also worthy of a “classic” distinction.

Enjoy detailed images of the shoes here below, and find all 3,020 pairs exclusively arriving to socialstatuspgh.com and in-store at Social Status.
