Jasmine Tang When the Nike Air Max 1 revolutionized the footwear scene in 1987 with the largest, visible Air unit, it was clear that the future is Air. Fast forward to 2020, where the Nike Air Max Zephyr not only shares an impressive Air unit with the Air Max 720, but also boasts Air pods on the tongue and sides. The silhouette will be arriving in a black and white colorway for the ultimate futuristic look.
The model sports a black base that is adorned in gray wave-like designs. To offset the gray, abstract black overlays are used throughout the model. The irregularity of these shapes contributes to the silhouette’s modern aesthetic, along with the massive aforementioned Air pods. To add a degree of brightness to the model while also maintaining a grayscale color palette, a stark white midsole atop the 720 sole unit. The icy, slightly blue-tinted outsole finishes the pair for a look that embraces innovation.
