What was once a custom is soon to turn into something full-fledged upon the start of 2021. Jordan Brand, who have obviously taken a liking to the proposed high-to-mid modularity, is adding zippers to their flagships with the Air Jordan 1 High Switch.
Surfaced in a neutral colorway, the model starts with an ordinary Air Jordan 1. Suedes construct many of the overlays from toe cap to swoosh in a Light Smoke Grey, while the underbody is completed with robust white leather. The sole is then yellowed ever-so-slightly, providing a vintage effect that directly contrasts the colored zippers that sit above along the collar. Accented with a thin rope pull, these fasteners embed around the circumference of the ankle, allowing the wearing to choose whether to wear it as a high-top or low-top.
