Unveiled in parts, the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 “Shanghai” collection includes some of the silhouette’s most experimental ensembles of 2020. Among them, a greyscale option featuring different colored, textured swooshes and motifs nodding to the Chinese city.
Much tamer than a pair seen back in September, the forthcoming proposition boasts the leather and suede construction common to the 1970s Nike Sportswear classic. Profile angles reveal non-standard design cues, but a bird’s eye-view displays more of this Blazer Mid‘s tribute to Shanghai. Layered, textured swooshes on the sidewalls introduce pink, orange, blue and green flair into an otherwise simple palette; the vibrant rose tone also takes over the sockliner and swoosh on the tongue label, both of which also feature “沪,” which translates to “Shanghai, China.” Unlike the aforementioned pair, the latest option also dons coordinates that pertain to the Shanghai People’s Government building. Furthermore, outsoles indulge in a semi-translucent, blue finish.
An official release date is unknown, but this Blazer Mid ’77 is likely to launch on Nike SNKRS before 2020 ends. In the meantime, enjoy official images ahead.
