There was a period of time, largely from 2012-2015, when Nike simply couldn’t escape the Yeezy craze. The “Solar Red” colorway concocted by Kanye West, a mix dashing mix of black, hot pink, and a glowing green, seemed to appear on nearly ever Nike Sportswear sneaker from the moment that epic shoe dropped. Air Force 1s, Air Max 1s, Roshes, Foams, and every silhouette squeezed in between featured this unforgettable colorway, and while it’s been phased out for the most part, it just made a surprise appearance on LeBron James’ overseas-exclusive lower-priced shoe – the LeBron Ambassador 13.
While this issue lacks an actual glow-in-the-dark sole, it achieves the effect thanks to the translucent green. The hot pink covers the inner lining, tongue back, and tongue ribbon, while a sharp black floods the rest of the upper. These are available at retailers in China now, with a US release not likely.
In other LeBron news, Nike recently dropped its first LeBron 8 Retro, and the LeBron 18 “LA By Day” is set to launch in early November.
