Despite from where it’s drawn inspiration over the last few decades, the Nike Blazer Mid is rooted in basketball heritage. An upcoming tri-colored iteration nods to this part of the model’s history as it borrows the recently-unveiled Brooklyn Nets Classic Edition jersey’s color scheme.
Accompanied by a Nike KD 13 and Kyrie Low 3, the leather proposition features shades of blue across its upper. Reinforcement along the tongue and at the toe and lateral forefoot indulge in the same smooth leather construction, but boast a richer tone. To further commemorate the Nets’ time in New Jersey, profile swooshes and other Nike branding throughout the mid-top Blazer deliver stark red contrast. Sole units forgo any eye-catching palette in favor of an all-white composition that allows the arrangement up top to revel in the spotlight.
An official release date is still unknown, but this Blazer Mid ’77 is likely to launch on Nike SNKRS in the coming months. In the meantime, enjoy images of the pair ahead.
For more from the Swoosh, the Air Force 1 B “3M Snake” from 2001 is rumored to return in early 2021.
