The adidas NMD R1 Appears With A Quilted Padded Upper

adidas continues to tweak some of its most popular silhouettes for fall and winter. Following up a slew of Originals, the Three Stripes has added quilted PrimaLoft® uppers to the NMD R1.

Unlike the handful of recently-seen pairs co-created by Pharrell, the forthcoming NMD variant features a triple-“Core Black” color scheme. The textile across the pair is arranged in quilted fashion, with higher concentration at the toe box. Synthetic overlays further indulge in the dark palette, but perhaps most notable is the understated BOOST cushioning underfoot; tread reveals that the whole unit is dyed “Core Black,” unlike some iterations which only color the profiles. The only non-black detail on this pair is the tag on the lateral side denoting the insulating technology.

Enjoy official images of this quilted NMD_R1 ahead, as you wait for an official stateside adidas.com launch.

Elsewhere under the Three Stripes umbrella, the Yeezy 350 Carbon arrives globally on October 2nd.
