The Nike Air Penny 3 “Eggplant” Releases On October 22nd

For those with a soft spot for nostalgic Nike Basketball kicks from the early 90s/2000s, you’re certainly in for a ride as the Swoosh team has plans to roll out several retro iterations this upcoming season. Among them include the the Air Max CB 94 in its original black/purple colorway, the all-black Foamposite One, and the Air Penny 3. The latter, after hinting at a return back in May, is finally confirming a release date for the revival of its classical “Eggplant” offering.

Last released back in June of 2010, the high-profile hoops model includes uppers that are formed with clean white leather backgrounds, an abstractly-shaped overlay that runs from the ankle to the forefoot, and an oval Penny medallion atop the lateral heels. Moreover, a lighter shade of purple accents through areas of the tongue/heel stripes, liners, and the quadruple layered mold present on the lower heels. Check out a closer look at the pair from ten years ago, and note that they will be dropping likely on Nike.com and through select retailers on October 22nd for $155.

For other news, official images of the Jordan 4 PSG have emerged.
