deadHYPE Continues The adidas A-ZX Series With A Stripe-Less ZX 8000

deadHYPE Continues The adidas A-ZX Series With A Stripe-Less ZX 8000

Due to the prominence of over-branding, the pure act of removing a logo breeds shock value, most pairs near impossible to imagine without a check or a set of Three Stripes. And thanks heavily in part to the adidas A-ZX series, we’re seeing the staple ZX 8000 dressed exactly in this minimal fashion, its upper removed entirely of its usual fixtures thanks to some design input from the Berlin-based creative agency deadHYPE.

Though a simple transformation, the collab effectively strips down the ZX8000 to its core influences, further likening the shape to the army surplus trainers that were likely used as reference early on. Soles and heel counters are finished with proprietary molds, both still similar to any of the mainline offerings. The upper, however, is far distinct even despite its nearly untouched paneling; instead of the usual stripes along the side, the mid-panel is reduced to one lengthy strip of leather, one that hues muted in contrast to the dark purples behind, below, and along the eye stay while also in complement to the toe cap, mesh under layer, and lining.

While they first appeared in Berlin early last month, the pair is now set to arrive once again on a global stage, releasing at adidas.com and a selection of retailers come September 18th.

In other news, the adidas Yeezy 380 Pepper RF was just officially announced.
