Within the blink of an eye, golf has worked its way into sneaker culture — the sport now a new focus for brands like Nike and adidas. And just as the former has offered their many Jordan and inline classics with golf spikes, so, too, will adidas starting with the ever-notable ZX 8000 in its Aqua colorway.
At first glance, the silhouette doesn’t seem too dissimilar to its OG counterpart. Both in colorway and construction, the pair is identical to its inspiration, the upper’s shell making use of the same leather and mesh fixtures. Blue tones, which match up perfectly to the “Aqua” from which it borrows, is fully sprawled atop most of the construction, playing backdrop to the Shock Yellow of the lining, three stripes, and scattered molds as well as the small hit of navy suede that accents below the mid-panel. The sole is really where most of the transformations lies as the rubber tooling is upgraded with extra grip to better suit the grass rather than the street.
Check these out right below and expect a release to arrive on adidas.com later this week on September 4th.
