Yohji Yamamoto’s adidas Y-3 imprint is following up an unofficial look at a new 4D-cushioned proposal with the brand-new Shiku Run silhouette.
While familiar in shape to other options within Yamamoto and the Three Stripes’ catalogs, the model delivers an overall refreshing arrangement. Launch colorways indulge in Y-3’s favored “Core White” and “Black” palette, but a “Signal Cyan” pair highlights the new sneaker’s design. Double-layer mesh sets the stage for a handful of suede and leather swaths across the upper. A cord system running throughout these overlays, however, arguably steals the spotlight. An exaggerated pull tab at the heel adds a fashion-forward update to the sport-driven feature, as does the fissured outsole. Underfoot, midsoles forgo any Boost or 3D-printed cushioning in favor of an EVA counterpart in “Ecru Tint”.
The Y-3 Shiku Run is now available on adidas’ new adidas‘ new CONFIRMED app.
For more under the Three Stripes umbrella, Sean Wotherspoon’s SUPEREARTH launches on August 29th.
