Compared to the Air Jordan 1, the Air Jordan 13 is somewhat boring, the silhouette primarily experimenting with color and color alone. But now, with the advent of even further innovation, it seems the silhouette is beginning to cross its streams with adjacent mainline staples such as the Nike Vapormax.
At its core a sole swap, the Air Jordan Reign simply lifts the upper onto the new cushioning, sculpting certain aspects to better help it adapt. Height, though reduced by only a small margin, creates a much sleeker aesthetic that’s further emphasized by the technical, thinly-constructed tongue whose branding leans towards futurism in its choice of font and use of additional numbers. Lateral profiles then complete the original image complete with its holo emblem and quilted leather; the toe and medial, however, are far distinct as the former opts for a volt-tinged mesh while the latter veils in slightly opaque synthetic and a fastening zipper.
