If you’ve managed to accomplish winning the CrossFit Games four years in a row and earned himself the title of “Fittest Man on Earth”, I think one can argue that that person has surely qualifies to have his own sneaker. And that person is Mat Fraser, professional CrossFit athlete who has been tapped by the folks at Nike once again to help introduce the all-new MetCon 6 training sneaker. From a design perspective, it continues its low-profile shape, and divides its upper into two parts; the forefoot comprising of a breathable mesh, while the heel presents a leather build. On both the lateral and medial panels, its aggressive midsole sports a triangular mold that extends onto the upper, each treated with linear design lines.
For its inaugural colorway, Fraser and the Nike camp methodically thought out each element to cater to his own personal training mentality. This includes the black uppers represent the “dark space” he goes into to block out any distractions the bright blue hits atop the Swooshes and toe tips are symbolic of the ice in his veins to perform under pressure, and words pulled from the Serenity Prayer/Hard Work Pays Off acronym printed onto sock liners. Additionally, four circles are embossed into the heels to signify his four consecutive victories. Check out a closer look here, and find these available now at select retailers for $140.
