This Reebok Interval “Clam Chowder” Is Inspired By New England-Based Specialty

When it comes to Reebok making food-inspired shoes, it certainly wouldn’t be the first time they’ve gotten their feet wet in that space. In 2019, the vector imprint flew their dealings overseas for their ‘International Food” series by teaming up with Euro-retailers 43einhalb and Overkill for collaborations based off of Chinese grub and Turkish skewers. Fast forward to present day, they’re tapping into their inner foodie once more for an exclusive rendition of the Interval ’96.

Their muse? Clam Chowder. This may seem slightly bizarre and random at first, but considering the fact that the creamy soup is a specialty born out of the New England area close to Reebok’s Boston headquarters, it starts to make a little more sense. The corduroy uppers translate the look and feel of the seafood bisque through an off-white base paired up with tan overlays reminiscent of the bread bowls in which clam chowder is sometimes served. Additionally, the heightened areas of the vector logo come materialized with velcro as a means for wearers to interchange the additional veggie-inspired neon orange and green options that come packaged with the shoes. Check out a closer look here, and note they are available for purchase now exclusively at BILLY’s Tokyo for ¥13,200.

In unrelated news, the Nike Zoom Tempo Next% Triple White has been revealed.
