When diving into the adidas archive, it’s almost impossible to ignore the ever-growing ZX family for its impact in both the lifestyle and performance footwear spaces. Dating back all the way to 1984, this series, thanks to its cutting edge cushioning formed in tandem with Torsion technology, birthed a new era of sneakers that fans gravitated to for their abilities to solve pronation and supination problems. Fast forward today, the lineage continues to be modernized for the everyday lifestyle sneaker lover, and it’s now ready to enter a new chapter of forward-thinking innovation with the introduction of the adidas ZX 2K Boost.
Design-wise, this new silhouette boasts an ultra-technical build as its upper comes manufactured with a mesh base paired with welded overlays and a tongueless “step-in” construction that hugs the ankle. Down below, its cushioning unit is loaded up with full-length Boost cushioning for an extremely squishy ride that is exposed at the forefoot, and covered towards the rear with a mold that tapers off towards the middle. Two colorways including a neon yellow/red, and a white/violet will be dropping August 1st on adidas.com and through select retailers for $140 USD, so check them out here while you wait on their arrival.
