The Nike Air Max 90 has stepped aside as several of its visible Air-cushioning kin have demanded the spotlight. Yet, the Tinker Hatfield-designed silhouette hasn’t stopped celebrating its 30th Anniversary. Its latest adds a “Sail”, greyscale, and neon green color scheme to a mountaineering-inspired, modified build.
Unlike a similar, previously-seen option, this reimagined Air Max 90 keeps the disparate hues to a minimum. Shades of beige, white, and grey overtake much of the Air Max model’s mixed-materials upper, but fluorescent green interrupts the subtle arrangement at the toe box, midfoot, and heel. Branding on the tongue indulges in the bold hue, just as accents along the cross-stitch-featuring mudguards. In the spirit of utility, this Air Max 90 boasts a semi-translucent lace toggle, non-standard pull tabs on the tongue and heel, and a ring at the spine. Underfoot, sole units don’t sport any ACG-like tweaks, but don a light, vintage-inspired finish.
Full release details are still unknown, but this outdoorsy-take on the Air Max 90 is likely to launch on Nike.com in the coming weeks as part of a themed collection. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
Elsewhere under the NIKE, Inc. umbrella, a Jordan 13 Starfish is rumored to launch in January 2021.
