Vans has valued individual expression since founder Paul Van Doren created custom footwear with fabrics customers brought to his shop in 1966. Over the past six decades, the California institution has tapped into this spirit through its own Vans Customs platform, as well as dozens of solo and collaborative efforts laden with bold patterns, palettes, and stories. The brand’s forthcoming Tiger Patchwork Collection is Vans’ latest foray into exciting expression.
The three-piece range includes a Sk8-Hi, Slip-On, and Era clad in disparate colors, materials, and arrangements. While all three silhouettes don visually striking prints, the Sk8-Hi overshadows its Tiger Patchwork Collection co-stars as it features more real estate for added patchwork. Swaths depicting flowers, paisley, and other graphics cover the tall icon with their respective black and orange tones. As the collection’s name suggests, tiger graphics make their way onto the Sk8-Hi lateral profiles – the sizing and placement of the tiger patchwork varies between pairs, making each product unique. A dark side-stripe, metal eyelets, and predominantly white and black sole unit accompany the Sk8-Hi’s eye-catching patchwork composition.
While the Slip-On and Era don’t boast as much space as the Sk8-Hi, they sport gingham and checkerboard patterns front and center. Tiger patchwork covers a notable amount of the laceless option, while the Era indulges in a health mix of each different pattern found throughout Van’s latest footwear pack. As with their tallest counterpart, this collection’s Slip-On and Era feature a white midsole accented by a black “OFF THE WALL” license plate and brown outsole.
The entire Tiger Patchwork Collection is set to arrive at Vans.com throughout July. In the meantime, enjoy a detailed look at each pair ahead.
