The McDonald’s x adidas “Harden Sauce” Dips Today

For James Harden, the word “sauce” can apply to the Houston Rockets scoring machine in more ways than one whether it be his notoriously loud outfits spotted in the pre-game tunnel walk or his famous cooking wrist motion usually executed following his nasty crossover to step-back move on the hardwood. And next month, his adidas team has decided to extend this notion even further as they’ve teamed up with popular fast food chain McDonalds to help reimagine his signature Harden Vol. 4 into a sauce packet-inspired colorway.

Since Damian Lillard already took inspiration from the Sweet and Sour sauce, The Beard steers in a different direction by dripping the mesh base and suede overlays in an “Active Purple” hue — a nod likely to Mickey D’s Sweet Chili condiment — while vibrant “Solar Orange” hits touch up the midfoot and heel mold to translate that of the Spicy Buffalo packaging. Additional accents arrive by way of the “ingredients” of #13’s signature sauce aka elements of his game including the “Deep 3 Ball”, “Pull Up Step Back”, “Crazy Handles” etc. spelled out across the tongues and midfoot overlay, followed by tiny “M” logos placed in tab form near the ankles, and in step-and-repeat fashion sprawled throughout the outsole.
