Every year the month of June serves as a celebration for the Pride festivities of the LGBTQIA+ community, and Nike is honoring this collective with their traditional “BeTrue” footwear initiative. Originally believed to only be a three-part capsule involving the Air Force 1, Air Max 2090, and ACG Deschutz, the assortment is now adding another member to join its company — the Pegasus 37. Give the fact that their 2019 “BeTrue” collection also featured running a silhouette in the VaporFly NEXT%, it makes sense that Beaverton would include one in this year’s selection.
Visually, the bottom Zoom-cushioned pieces, as well as the warped uppers are kept consistent, but slight tweaks are presented on the upper to give these a little bit more of Pride-inspired pizzaz. Swooshes have been enlarged as they now run from the forefoot to the ankle, and in alignment with the grid patterns, they usher in a multi-colored gradient theme that transitions from reds/purples at the toes to a sea of green/blues at the rear. Furthermore, “BeTrue” embellishments stamp onto the tongues and heels, and the customary Nike Air rainbow logos are placed atop the medial midsoles to echo its theme. You can find a detailed look here ahead, and note that a release on Nike.com is likely to occur in the coming weeks.
