Although employed as the VP of Sneakers & Men’s Footwear at Italian luxury house Versace, Salehe Bembury is distributing his design talents elsewhere in the world of sneakers this year with upcoming Sportswear partnerships. Following his announcement of a forthcoming New Balance project yesterday, the designer is now teasing that a collaboration with Jinjiang-based sports imprint ANTA is in the works. The low-profile proposal draws from that of outdoor trail sensibilities as its base mold possesses a collection of oval-shaped windows sprawled throughout the upper for a hiking-inspired aesthetic. Additionally, Bembury adds even more dimensional elements down below as its bottom piece is crafted with a wayward webbed look reminiscent of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Stadium’s architecture, with a swirly mold running the length of the midsole fastened on top. Peep a first glance at this monochromatic black colorway here, and stay tuned for more details related to its official release.
For other sneaker news, the Flint 13 is officially releasing on May 30th.
