As April finally comes to a close, some of biggest players in the global sneaker space have officially (and unofficially) enticed enthusiasts everywhere for a Summer many hope to spend outdoors.
NIKE, Inc. dominated the news cycle through both its mainline and Jordan Brand subsidiary. Leaks of the former’s various upcoming Nike SB Dunk collaborations presumably led many to call up their local skate shops for stock confirmation. A first look at the Kobe 5 Protro Bruce Lee also reminded basketball fans and non-fans alike of Kobe Bryant‘s phenomenal legacy. On the Jumpman side of things, the Air Jordan 4 Metallic Pack and Jordan 14 Gym Red further pushed Jordan’s legacy onto a new generation, especially amid ESPN’s “The Last Dance” docs-series.
Away from the Oregon-based behemoth, Boston’s New Balance and Reebok gave long-time supporters more of what they want, while ostensibly enticing former nay-sayers. The New Balance 992 led the way for the “dad” shoe pioneer, notably through its collaboration with WTAPS. On the other side of town, the Question Low recaptured some of the ’90s flair that made so many want to be just like Allen Iverson.
And at adidas, Yeezy previewed more (you guessed it) Yeezy 350s, while also crafting follow-ups to the debuts of the Yeezy 500 High and Yeezy Quantum.
For all that and more, check out our top eight headlines from April 25th to May 1st ahead.
