Vans Announces Tony Hawk As Newest Global Brand Ambassador

Vans and Tony Hawk, two names synonymous with skateboarding, have recently announced an official brand partnership that aims to inspire and enable creativity through the sport.

As Vans’ newest global brand ambassador, the San Diego-native will help promote the “Off The Wall” brand’s already-established global platforms, while also co-developing a brand-new professional Vert skateboarding competition. Furthermore, Hawk and Vans will create engaging social campaigns, philanthropic give-back programs and collaborative products, among other initiatives, as part of their shared, undisputed commitment to skate culture.

“I have always respected [Vans’] integrity,” said Hawk. “[S]o it is an honor to officially join forces and help continue to grow skateboarding culture in the most authentic way possible”

While currently restrained by the COVID-19 crisis, this partnership’s earliest effort is to promote Vans’ “Foot The Bill” program. This initiative, which leverages the Vans Customs platform, aims to support 80 small, independent businesses across the world affected by the pandemic through custom-made pairs of the Slip-On and Era.
