The Nike Air Max 270 React Honors The Shoe That Started It All

The Nike Air Max 270 React Honors The Shoe That Started It All

Although only having occurred on but a few occasions, the Swoosh’s Air Max 270 React is no stranger to digging into the archives for inspiration and assistance in styling its latest. We’ve seen variations that hark to Tinker Hatfield’s Air Safari and the OG colorway of the Air Max 95 “Neon”, as well as tributes executed through ACG-esque color schemes. Adding more historical references to its lineage, the Sportswear mainstay is now taking a stab at doing its best impression of the original Air Max 1 “University Red”. For the uppers, the palette integrates identical white, grey, and red hues, and are distributed amongst its mudguards, Swooshes, and heels to best translate the similar color-blocking of its muse. Down below, the midsoles are left untouched, only deviating at the heels due to the nature of its bigger Air unit. Official photos of the pairs are available below, and note that you can cop these now on Nike.com for a retail price of $160 USD.

In other Air Max news, Nike just dropped the Air Max 95 “Mt. Fuji” exclusively in Japan.
