If the oath to reducing injury rates by 52% through their Infinity React Run or evolution of their NEXT% System with the Air Zoom Alphafly are any indication, it is that Nike is making giant strides into technologically advancing their running category this year. While most of these initiatives have solely focused on footwear options compatible for the road, there hasn’t been much attention paid towards those that more partake in trail/off-road running. Until now, as we have just learned via Nike News, Beaverton is catering to their trail pacers through two new silhouettes with expansion of their Wildhorse and Air Zoom Terra Kiger series. Both are ready to release the 6th model of their respective families, and do the best job of honing in on performance enhancements.
For example, the Wildhorse 6’s cushioning unit has been upgraded with plush React foam that runs the entire midsole, its horseshoe style foam heel piece provides more stability, and its treading is carved with a more durable and aggressive look to better combat against muddy terrain. Moving over to the Air Zoom Terra Kiger 6, the uppers have been structured with a much more durable mesh, as well as isolated front eyelets that lend users to a snug-like fit. Both carry similar color palettes involving a combination of grey-ish blue uppers and yellow/red accents, and feature Swoosh logos designed in scrappy speckles that call upon a similar vibe to the forthcoming Nike Space Hippie collection. See a closer look here ahead, and find both pairs releasing on Nike.com and at select retailers on March 5th.
