Michael Le Collaborative projects have long been engrained in the operations of retailer size?, and now that they’ve approached a long but undoubtedly rewarding 20 years in business, we’re poised to see a more nostalgic side to the imprint as they craft the reference heavy Air Max 95 “20 for 20.” Inspired by their past exclusives, the pair patchworks together a curated selection of some of their favorites, narrowing down the inspirations to a total of 20 after painstakingly deciding which should be incorporated. Though each foot is separated visually by way of its layers, there are a few shared accents that ground the entire presentation — specifically the pink-accented mesh that seats the top line, the dark black toe caps, and the splattered execution of the neutral tooling. The main act, then, takes place almost solely on the profile layers as various patterns, prints, and tones come together in a wildly unique arrangement: some transition from neons to florescent pink, others a volt green to a much darker and more versatile indigo, and the rest seem to prefer earth tones as olive, grey, and a dotted make-ups outfit vertically.
