Nike Gives The Cortez The Valentine’s Day Effect

Nike Gives The Cortez The Valentine’s Day Effect

Beloved — now in more ways than one — the Nike Cortez joins the brand’s family of Valentine’s Day designs, marking with the very same all-over swoosh treatment that the Air Force 1 and the Air Max 90 exhibited before it. Here, however, subtlety is more the name of the game despite the graphic’s choice of the chaotic and visually random. Whereas it scattered more aggressively on the aforementioned models, the Forrest Gump costar only opts to apply it along its overlaid check, doing so in the connected palette of pink and Barely Volt: the former dressing in outlines and the latter sprawled after the fact in puff print. Elsewhere, these same tones wrap the heel tabs of both in asymmetric fashion — the floral notes the left and muted neons the right — with the tongue patches and insoles doing much of the same with the addition of a holiday-themed heart motif. Grab a detailed look at the pair right here and find them in women’s sizes at Eastbay right now for $80 USD.
