COMME des GARÇONS BLACK Adds Frayed Swooshes To The Nike Waffle Racer

COMME des GARÇONS BLACK Adds Frayed Swooshes To The Nike Waffle Racer

Often preferring the unassuming and minimal, COMME des GARÇONS BLACK seems to never tire of its signature color, staying admiringly dedicated even by way of its many seasonal Nike collaborations. We’ve seen Blazer Lows, the more eclectic Footscape, and even the Waffle Racer prior — all brandished with bold-faced text on the heel and insole — but as the partnership enters a new decade, they’re beginning to retrace their steps, revisiting the latter runner with newer motifs. The design of the moment, seemingly borrowing inspiration from the Homme diffusion’s Air Max 95, displays a fair bit of distressing, though it doesn’t apply to the same degree as the aforementioned. Frayed seams only see to the swoosh’s edge: its base staying a flat canvas material and the surroundings an equally clean suede construction. Toe caps stay true to the original, even the eye stays and heel counter; coupled with their logo’d sign off, however, the pair is an easy choice for fans of the legendary Japanese label. Grab a detailed look here and expect to see a global release at Dover Street Market locations for a price of 25,000 Yen.

UPDATE (2/26/2020):
