What have Tony Hawk, Kylie Jenner, and Roger Federer all had in common? The Air Jordan 1. From inline “Bred” pairs to exclusive colette collaborations, Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker has achieved a popularity only rivaled (if at all) by a handful of models. But while casual fans have enjoyed the AJ1’s recent slew of GR and collaborative releases, die-hard enthusiasts have been digging through obscure thrift stores or scouring countless online listings in search of one thing: a pair from 1985. Though buying 35-year-old shoes may seem foolish to some, those in the know understand that today’s sneakers just aren’t made the way they were in decades past, which is why next month’s arrival of the Hi ’85 is so special. Before appearing in the Nike Air Ship-including “New Beginnings” pack, the Jordan 1 is returning to OG-shape with a red and black outfit playing off its “X”-embellished “Banned” version. Everything from ankle flaps to profile swooshes are left in-tact, but mudguards and eye-stays – of which there are nine – flip the script and opt in for a “Varsity Red” arrangement while toe boxes go black.

Unquestionably iconic, the Jordan 1 ’85 Hi will hit select retailers on February 8th, 2020 with a price tag of $200 and in a rumored quantity of 23,000 pairs. Until then, enjoy our first look at official photos here below and be sure to stay up to date on Fall 2020 Jordan Release Dates.
