Sheila Rashid, notably known for her bespoke streetwear designs that employ vibrant personality and funky prints, is being given the opportunity to work with the Jumpman imprint through their ongoing “UNITE” campaign. Aimed to spotlight up-and-coming creatives in cities across the United States, the initiative appears to have the Chicago-based designer’s Air Jordan 1 Mid collaboration currently in production as we now have an official look at her creation. For those who have never seen her work before, a hearty amount of her curated workwear pieces see through to clean, blocky-styled color combinations, which in this particular case translates very well onto her first AJ1 collaboration. Distinctly split into two parts, both in material and tone, this forthcoming collaboration paints its front regions in deep purple tumbled leather – a similar look to the dip-dyed kicks you’d find hanging from the ceilings at Sean Wotherspoon’s Round Two store in Los Angeles – while the rest of the sneaker opts for contrasting muted grey mid-foot to heel areas most noticeably engineered with hairy suedes. Further alluding to the partnership between the two parties, Jordan Brand’s “UNITE” graphic lays atop the right insole, while Rashid’s signature logo adorns the left. Check out a detailed look right here, and find these rolling out likely on Nike.com and other retailers in the near future.
