When you hear the words “Jordan” and “retro”, your mind often wanders to the place of all of the related footwear that the six-time champion has released through his numerical lineup. However, the folks over at the Beaverton office have decided to do something unexpected in this first month of the new year by bringing back a forgotten basketball silhouette in the Team Showcase. Previously seen in PE form on the soles of NCAA hoops athletes in the early 2000s, the model is getting pulled out from the archives to return in some of its original forms. Dropping alongside the classic UNC colorway is this OG black and white rendition that comes dressed up in full white tumbled leather, and is accompanied by various forms of Jordan branding including its overt stripe on the lateral sides, Jumpman logo seated at the bottom of the throat, as well as its rewind/fast forward logo along the heels. Additionally, the bar that separates the top/bottom layers arrives coated with a metallic silver finish. If you’re looking to get your hands on a pair, they are starting to become available at select Jordan retailers for a retail price of $140 USD.
