What To Expect With adidas Originals’ 50th Anniversary Of The Superstar

What To Expect With adidas Originals’ 50th Anniversary Of The Superstar

Although there may be conflicting reports in regards to when exactly actual year is, adidas Originals has officially announced the 2020 as the 50th Anniversary of its most iconic shoe – the Superstar. The timeless shelltoes – a true staple for any lover of the casual/sporty look – has been a consistent mainstay for five decades, even enjoying a rather robust and impressive run as the best-selling shoe in North America for several straight seasons during the brand’s hot streak. That’s all the proof that you need that the Superstar is an all-time classic, and in 2020, it’s on a journey to not only remind the world of its everlasting relevance, but to write the next 50-year-long chapter of its book.

As part of the brand’s official announcement, adidas reveals what could be in store for the next five decades of Superstar. Alongside exciting revamps of the shoe, which we presume to be premium-grade reconstructions, we can possibly expect historic campaigns with the involvement of Run DMC and Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and perhaps some exciting collaborations with the world’s foremost footwear boutiques and creatives in the space. At the very least, you can expect these mainstay colorways to return to store shelves soon, so stay tuned as adidas gears up for this significant campaign in the new year.
