From years back, Kevin Durant’s tributes to his late Aunt Pearl have always been a sight for sore eyes, honoring one of his biggest role models and her fight against cancer through the lens of the KD 4 and on. Always in support — with each directly associated with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund — his releases have culminated into a yearly celebration with 2019 seemingly readied to release two, though the latest now on the much newer KD 12. Much more than a simple palette swap for the model, the scheme adheres with more overt and transformative expression; while still composed almost entirely of bright pinks and smooth, clean whites, the pair ushers in more angelic themes as the strap along the lace unit bears feathers as if a floral-flushed set of wings. Underneath lies debossed text that embellishes in remembrance of Aunt Pearl similar to the typed hits along the velvet-constructed tongue and the graphics along the stained glass insole. Elsewhere, the synthetic uppers lies mostly unassuming while still in complement, shrouding pieces of the series’ past iterations and leaving accents by way of the swoosh and tread to speak more loudly in their luxe texture and colorful marbling, respectively. Grab a good look at these as well as their many details right here and sit tight as Nike has these scheduled for a December 27th release.
