One of the week’s more scintillating rumors in the world of sneakers is the alleged return of Tom Sachs’ Nike Mars Yard 2.0. Designed with the idea of walking on the surface of the red planet, the Mars Yard 2.0 was crafted by American contemporary artist Tom Sachs and released in extremely limited quantity in during the summer of 2017 (the original released in 2012 in far more limited numbers). Photos of the highly coveted pair began surfacing over this past weekend, this time boasting a new product tag that houses QR codes (which points to shoes being back in production). Additionally, those who are revealing the photos on Instagram note that the Mars Yard 2.0 build is slightly improved from the ’17 model. This rumored re-release is set to go down sometime in the new year (Spring 2020) with 8,000 pairs being produced, but this information has not yet been confirmed by Nike nor Tom Sachs. Stay tuned for updates and note that the official images here are of the 2017 version.
