Fresh off their trip to Japan, Nike saw it fit to make one quick pitstop to the neighboring Shanghai, bringing to life yet another regionally exclusive Air Force 1 though in homage to the city’s golden age. Taking the term quite literally, the model paints in gold finish whose glimmer is owed solely to the choice of patent leather throughout the construction. Heel counters as well as the lining hiding just within are dyed the striking 18 karat with swooshes laid over in translucent materials. Blending in to both halves of the same pair, the seemingly invisible logo hides subtle line work within, a nod to the map-adorned tyvek that accompanies the box itself. Fore foots are also much more than the eye might lead on with the same treated materials taking seat at the toe cap; bases along the toe box and just behind, however, take on a standard tumbled variation. Grab a detailed look at the China-limited release here and keep it locked for details on when they’ll be hitting shelves.
