Often recruiting those who fly just a bit lower on the radar, Reebok joins forces with the obscure and mysterious Japanese label BlackEyePatch for what is ostensibly a futuristic take on the Daytona DMX II. In a similar vein to the Boston brand’s Vainl Archive partnership, the creation lies just a bit more reserved than some others though its overall design is wholly informed by the aesthetics of its unique collaborator. Uppers, bearing almost full metallic silvers, are seemingly ripped right from years ahead though stamped characters at the heel hark to more traditional fixtures. Their logo name sees to the same debossing right across the lower side in all caps, leaving little branding elsewhere from what’s visible. Palettes remain mostly quiet in relative terms, with the shiny finish only accented by textural mesh bases as sparing additions of blue at the eyestay, pull tabs, and the “DMX” segment along the blacked out sole.
