Marvel Celebrates 80th Anniversary With adidas And Foot Locker For Exclusive NYCC Release

Marvel Celebrates 80th Anniversary With adidas And Foot Locker For Exclusive NYCC Release

The most iconic comic book brand in history is celebrating 80 years of storytelling, blockbuster films, and immense cultural impact this year. And with the 2019 New York Comic Con set to kickoff this week, Marvel Comics’ very own Joe Quesada is teaming up with Foot Locker and adidas SPEEDFACTORY to commemorate this anniversary with two exclusive editions of the adidas AM4. Instead of utilizing each sneaker to honor one of the noble heroes or infamous villains on their roster – as previously seen on past Marvel x adidas collaborations – each pair aims to encapsulate this storied legacy in its own unique way. The first pair dubbed the AM4 “Marvel 80 Vol. 1” honors the brand as a whole by christening the uppers with the Marvel logo in large print across its toe box, calling out the breadth of the anniversary on the heel. The second pair entitled the “AM4 Marvel 80 Vol. 2” goes with an all-over style graphic that highlights the rectangular stamps seen on the upper-left hand corner of actual comic books – a nod to the hobby that started it all. For those looking to get their hands on these, they will be exclusively released during NYCC at Foot Locker’s 34th St. Herald Square location on October 4th, and will see a wider release on FootLocker.com on October 18th for $150 a piece.
