Snow Peak Readies For Winter With Their New Balance Tokyo Design Studio Collaboration

Snow Peak Readies For Winter With Their New Balance Tokyo Design Studio Collaboration

A shining example of technical masterworks, Snow Peak continues to bolster its name within the fashion scene, branching off the mainline items centered on more outdoors utility than anything wearable. Designed by Lisa Yamai, the daughter of the brand head, each piece comes to life within a vision not too unlike that of The North Face or Arc’teryx Veilance. While her mainline has seen mountain-ready outerwear aplenty, modified traditional garb of indigo dyes, and even a series of workwear-inspired pieces, the most striking may just be the label’s collaborative work with New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio. Mirroring ethos with near perfect execution, the pair — dubbed aggressively as the EXTREME SPEC R_C4 MID — is one of many upgrades: Vibram soles add a tread ready for any surface, uppers take on strengthening Cordura and Gore-Tex fabrics, and a magnetic Fidlock buckles adorn the ankle for easy on and off. Laces detail with reflective accents in coordination with the N-shaped webbing at the sides, both resting atop a backdrop of deep navy mesh. Grab a detailed look at the set right here, and if you’re looking to pick them up, expect to see them releasing on October 5th exclusively in Japan.

UPDATE: The Snow Peak x New Balance R_C4 will actually be hitting retailers worldwide on their October release date.
