Rightfully claimed as the original “dad shoe”, the New Balance 990 line’s latest v5 model is making its return with a colorway that should be familiar to brand enthusiasts. Recently taking on collaborative versions with Engineered Garments and Size?, the comfortable runner/walker borrows the original hues of the 801 trail running model, adding to the off-road effect with durable nylon materials on the tongue and ankle collar. Even the standard laces are swapped out for ones dotted with yellow lines (a common trait in trail shoes). Perhaps these were meant to drop alongside the random blend of the 990v upper and the 801 sole that released not long ago, but if you prefer the color concept over the physical execution of the cross-hybrid, they are available at New Balance retailers for $175 USD.
