Surfer Alex Knost And Vans Team Up For A Shiny Two-Shoe Collection

Pro surfer Alex Knost has been a part of the Vans family since 2005, and now wave rider and vulcanized footwear pioneer have worked together to create unique takes on both the Vans Style 36 and Vans SK8-Hi. Knost drew from the elegant style of his mint condition ’80s Cadillac Coupe de Ville for inspiration, as he dressed the Style 36 in a dark chocolate-colored glossy vegan patent leather and equipped it with a bold blue jazz stripe, gum midsole, and bronze eyelets for a luxurious look. The Sk8-Hi features similar shimmering vegan leather stylings, but flips the script with a dressy blue base that’s accented by a brown jazz stripe, black midsole, and a large Off the Wall badge on the tongue. Each pair of shoes also features an UltraCush insole for maximum comfort. As Knost is also an artist and fronts a band called Tomorrow’s Tulips, it only makes sense that his shoes would be just as amorphic and adaptable in their style as the man himself, and both pairs are available now on Vans.com, with the Style 36 priced at $67 USD while the SK8-Hi arrives at $72 USD.
