The Upcoming Nike Kobe NXT Shoe Is Packed With Innovation

Kobe Bryant’s signature shoes have always pioneered new design directions or innovations that have been established as standards. Flywire, the low-cut construction, Flyknit – you name it, the Nike Zoom Kobe was largely responsible for it. The latest model of the Kobe NXT signature series is more of a proper amalgam of existing tech, but still nothing like we’ve seen before. Arriving sometime in August and coinciding with the upcoming FIBA tournament in late August and into September, the Kobe AD NXT features the analog Fast-Fit lockdown system that was first introduced on the Air Jordan 33. The cushioning is provided via a drop-in React Foam bed, while the lightweight mesh upper and a thick ankle strap offer the lockdown and breathability. Certainly a far cry from the lower-cut silhouettes we’ve come to expect from the Black Mamba, but this $200 model certainly offers the same principles while introducing some updated tech. See the official photos ahead and stay tuned for a release in late August.
