After revealing their beignet-inspired Cafe du Monde collaboration earlier this week, Politics has now announced an even more scarce take on the Saucony Shadow 5000. With only 157 pairs produced, this ultra-rare version nods to the outstanding cafe’s 157 years in business, and also presents an alternate take on the palette of their signature French pastry. Where the more widely available version featured an upper with multiple shades of brown, this F&F-style pair instead opts for a crisp white top half and uses brown leather with beignet-style powdered sugar detailing on the mudguard and heel. The cafe’s signature green hue also comes into play more on this iteration, adorning the laces as well as the tongue/outsole. Thankfully, the special beignet mix-inspired shoebox is left unchanged. All pairs are set to be launched exclusively in the Big Easy this Saturday, June 22nd, and will only be available to the first 157 people in line at Politics. Grab a look directly below, and let us know which of the sweet-toothed styles strikes your fancy more.
