If you’re a collector of vintage Jordans or were around long enough for the debut release of Michael Jordan’s signature shoes, you might remember the Sky Jordan. It was basically a kids-and-smaller version of the Air Jordan 1 that had no actual Air cushioning, hence the “Sky” designation. Even the famed Wings logo on the upper replaced the word with “Sky”. It appears that Jordan Brand is bringing back the Sky Jordan, but with one glaring addition – an oversized mid-foot strap that features the aforemented Wings emblem that puts the Air-lessness front and center. While an unexpected design choice, it’s probably to make the shoes easier for the little ones to slip on and off. You can expect both the original “Banned” and “Royal” versions to hit stores soon in both Preschool and Toddler sizing.
