Ross Dwyer Nike Shox are wildly popular in Brazil, so with the re-launch of the Shox R4 this year Nike has called upon the services of Neymar Jr, one of the country’s finest futbol products, for a co-branded two pack of the spring-equipped sneakers. Centered around a cleverly-flipped logo that inverts the signature Shox Z 90 degrees to turn it into an N for Neymar, each shoe in the pack then tells a different story through its design. The “Platinum Tint” offers a modernized look on the R4’s launch colorway, leaving the original ethos largely intact but dressing the upper’s large silver overlay in a plentiful helping of inverted Swoosh graphics. Meanwhite, the other pair is more personal to Neymar’s genesis, featuring a watermelon-style red to volt gradient fade that acknowledges the busy street markets around his hometown of Sao Paulo, a constant in the Paris Saint-Germain forward’s childhood. Each pair is then completed by bold red Shox columns in the heel to provide both classic style and durable comfort.
