Nike’s Home & Away Pack Continues With This Air Trainer Huarache For Houston

Summertime baseball in Texas is an old and rich tradition, and it’s serving as inspiration for Nike’s newest installment of their Home & Away pack, which nods to Houston with this Air Trainer Huarache. Apparently recognizing the success that the hometown Houston Astros have enjoyed over the past few seasons as well as their days of yore, the shoe features a light cream overlay that encases a veritable plethora of baseball-themed accents. Dark navy and bright orange leathers acknowledge the team’s current color palette, while a bold gold mudguard/heel tab and burgundy neoprene sockliner salute classic ‘Stros uniforms. Final touches of detailing are then provided by baseball-style stitching on the tongue badge and a green insole, a clever homage to to the underbrims of traditional baseball caps. Grab a first look at these compelling trainers here, and, as with past City Pack releases like the recent Dallas-themed duo of Air Max 97s, look for a drop on Nike.com and at Foot Locker in the coming weeks.
