One of the NBA’s brightest rising young stars, Jayson Tatum has already served as one of the faces of the Nike Adapt BB over this past season, and now he’s set to make his lifestyle market footwear debut with a new Air Max 97. Tatum’s deep connection to his hometown of Saint Louis is well-known, so his pair is equipped with a red, black, white, and silver color scheme that nods to both the colors of his hometown Cardinals and his high school, Chaminade Prep. The 97’s signature mudguard is decked out in an all-over print that almost looks as if it was scrawled by hand, and the shimmering tongue badges feature “Tatum” and “The Deuce” on the right and left shoes, respectively. The style is then locked in by St. Louis’s “314” area code on the outsole. These interesting Nike shoes continue the Beaverton brand’s recent propensity to create lifestyle footwear for their premier athletes — like Neymar Jr’s recent Shox R4 and Odell Beckham Jr’s upcoming Air Max 720s — so be sure to keep it locked here to see what Swoosh Brand superstar is next up, and look for these Maxes to release later this summer.
