These Air Jordan 1 Mids Were Inspired By Jordan Brand’s “Maybe It’s My Fault” Commercial

Beloved for its affordability, accessibility, and always-classic construction, the Air Jordan 1 Mid is one of the Jumpman’s most popular non-retro silhouettes, and it’s now set to release in a new makeup inspired by a ’00s TV commercial. The vast majority of the shoe is relatively simple, with a black leather upper accented by crisp white accents on the Swoosh’s trim, the midsole, and the throat. However, the tongue patch is where things start to get truly interesting. “Maybe I Destroyed The Game,” a quip made by MJ himself in a 2008 ad provides this AJ1 with a sizable pop of self-confident style. A red insole then completes the look. As Jordan Brand has decades worth of classic commercial catchphrases, it’ll be interesting to see if this Air Jordan 1 Mid is a one-off project, or if more quote-adorned styles will surface in the coming months.
