The time tested models of New Balance’s current repertoire seldom see a rework in the years since their inception, though the new year has brought on a new sense of enthusiasm for the N-toting flags as they’ve slowly begun ushering in fresh toolings to their classic silhouettes. From bearing a more accessible little sibling to the 997 to walking the hallowed runways of Junya Watanabe’s AW19 show, the team have now set their sights on the 15XX series, giving it a more intricate panelling along what they dub the 1530. Construction is kept luxe as is customary of the high numerical namesake, however, overlays have shifted for something a bit more visually appealing with new shades poking through from beneath. A perforated texture adorns the profile of the heightened heel counter while the mudguard comes split in two sections over the usually singular piece. Completed with a Spring-ready palette of yellow and red, the starring pair is currently available now at retailers like the ONENESS for a price point of $190 USD.
