adidas Draws In Hints Of Ultra Tech For The Deerupt Sequel

If you have been following adidas for the last decade or so, you know that the Three Stripes has a veritable penchant for calling upon its past in order to help shape its future. We have seen this countless times with its EQT series, its Never Made collection, its trendy Yung-1 and Yung-96 models, and now the German sportswear brand is doing it once more with the introduction of the Deerupt S, a sequel to last year’s netting-equipped runner. Already harkening back to the sleek Ultra Tech by way of that aforementioned netting, the S kicks its inspiration up a notch with the addition of a mudguard borrowed directly from the silhouette predominantly featured in the esteemed adidas Dragon Ball Z collection. While the similarities between the two designs are readily apparent, the Deerupt S still provides its own signature aesthetic with a new-look ankle collar, and unconventional lacing system held together by a leather loop, and its categorical data still boldly printed on its medial side. Trefoil brand fanatics intrigued by this new design can check out an official set of images below and anticipate the adidas.com arrival of the new Deerupt S on February 28th.
